1. Find out what they are and ask that fitter which of the 23 he considers when fitting. If they cannot tell you what those variables are on the spot look further for a fitter.
2. Ask the fitter which of the 23 are key variables in the fitting process and how they measure them? Ask the fitter which of the variables they check out first. There should be and is only one correct answer to that question.

4. Ask how the fitter and you will know if the club fit is perfect, and how long it will take? If it takes less than two hours you are not being fitted properly. Proper fitting simply cannot be done in less than two hours.
5. Ask how much the fitting will cost? If you are being charged by the hour imho the fitter is more interested in charging you for their time than getting the fit as close to perfect as possible.
6. Ask the fitter if they consider how your physique leads them to choose different variables. Ask if they consider any physical limitations you might have in the design/fitting process? The body is the most important piece of equipment in golf and in life and must be considered in a true fitting process.
8. Ask them how the 23 variables will interact with your swing? Club fitting is about stimulus and response, action and reaction. Some of the variables will have an immediate and lasting effect on your golf swing.
9. A true custom club fitter must have detailed and intimate knowledge of the biomechanics of the golf swing to understand this cause and effect relationship between changes in club design and how those changes impact the golf swing. The best fitters will demonstrate to you that the club is improving your swing as the fitting proceeds.
